AVR Studio© SDK FAQ
Overview
The SDK enables 3rd party developers to write
seamless extensions to AVR Studio 4. This includes the ability to:
- Extend the GUI with dialogs, docking windows,
buttons, toolbars and other controls
- Access and process debug data
- Access and process device specific data
- Integrate and control compilers, simulators and other hardware/software
Getting the SDK
To receive the SDK, you must register online and choose your preferred delivery method (either mail or post). Return page 2 of the inscribed copy of the SDK Licence Agreement to Atmel. Once Atmel receives the License Agreement, the SDK will be sent to the user.
Content of the package
The SDK will be sent to the 3rd party developer either by post (as a CD) or by mail (as a zip file). The package contains:
- Documentation
- Complete example projects with source code
- SDK code wizard
- Plug-in manager
Requirements
- MS Visual Studio C/C++ 6 or later (Other tools capable of creating COM-based objects are not supported by Atmel)
- Windows 95/98/ME/NT/XP/2000
- AVR Studio 4.12 or later (Plug-ins will NOT work on previous versions of AVR Studio)
